Takotsubo syndrome (TTS) is a clinical syndrome characterized by an acute and reversible left ventricle dysfunction. It affects predominantly postmenopausal women with a history of neurologic or psychiatric disorders and psychological or physical stress shortly before the onset of TTS. Rare cases of TTS can be associated with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease or asthma exacerbation. Our case report presents a male patient without neurologic or psychiatric disorders, without a clear psychological trigger and with atypical clinical features.
